The Silence of Mars offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the Roman god of war at the moment he lays down his arms and confronts the consequences of his own nature.
Far removed from the traditional image of the triumphant warrior, Mars is portrayed in a state of profound silence, immersed in reflection and remorse. His helmet, shield, and sword are no longer instruments of conquest, but symbols of a conflict that has come to an end.
The painting was conceived as a meditation on human fragility, the burden of one's actions, and the possibility of inner transformation. In this visual oxymoron, the god of war renounces war itself, giving way to a more intimate and universal dimension.
Through a classical figurative language and a suspended, contemplative narrative, the work invites viewers to reflect on the true meaning of strength, failure, and redemption.
